HealthEdge Sells SPNN to Option Care Health, Second Fund III Exit

Tampa, Florida – HealthEdge Investment Partners (“HealthEdge”), a Tampa-FL based private equity fund focused on lower middle market healthcare companies, completed a second exit out of its third Fund with the sale of Specialty Pharmacy Nursing Network (“SPNN”), a national provider of specialty home infusion nursing services, to Option Care Health, Inc. (“Option Care Health”) (Nasdaq: OPCH), the largest independent provider of home and alternate site infusion services in the United States, in early April. The sale of SPNN marks the third exit for HealthEdge in less than nine months, following the sale of Fund III’s The Columbus Organization in November 2021 and a majority of Fund II’s equity position in Formulated Solutions in September 2021.

Through its national network of over 400 highly trained infusion nurses, SPNN provides outsourced solutions to specialty pharmacies and biopharmaceutical manufacturers for drug administration, patient education and training, clinical call support, and patient outcome reporting. The acquisition of SPNN builds upon the market-leading nursing platform Option Care Health established with its acquisition of Infinity Infusion Nursing LLC in 2021 to expand access to clinical resources across the United States.

HealthEdge Managing Partner Phil Dingle said of HealthEdge’s investment in SPNN, “As a provider of nursing services, SPNN plays a critical role in the continuum of care for infusion patients. A clear goal for our investment in SPNN was to expand access to these important nursing services and we envisioned that the key players in the specialty pharmacy supply chain would continue aggregating around solutions like those offered by SPNN. We are excited to see SPNN enter the next phase of its growth under Option Care Health’s ownership.”

As an operationally-oriented, sector-focused private equity fund, HealthEdge seeks to deliver attractive returns to its investors by partnering with lower middle market healthcare companies where HealthEdge’s investment and operational teams can add substantial value—driving organizational transformation, cultural excellence, and accelerated growth through active involvement with management teams. The sale of SPNN comes just a little over a year after HealthEdge’s initial acquisition of the company in March of last year.
